Lake Huro

Glimmering blue

Bean-shaped

A fence sinks down and up again.

Te  Whanga

an estuary with endangered oyster catchers

rocky  grey with  a hint  of  light  blue

there is a big bank that is split between Lake Huro

paddle crabs paddle with their extra legs

lots of  birds  like  it

there are eels, garfish, and black starfish

fossilised shark teeth lurk at the bottom.

I  want to know if you can swim in Te Whanga Lagoon.

I’ve heard there are sharks somewhere.
