Suns, stars and constellations

Suns, stars and constellations
I have this odd fascination with doodling.
I've been told to stop by many authority figures.
They say sprinkling scribbles all over their ‘classified documents’
is not legal.
I'm unsure why
but whenever my fingers find a drawing tool,
or I'm within the click of a pen,
doodles surround me like skies.
Shiny suns, stars and constellations
take over my finger tips, my shoulders.
Math work becomes an art project instead of a migraine.
I can’t help it, my doodles are my thoughts,
my thoughts are blocked by doodles.
I feel like my inner child never changed –
getting mad because I can never understand simple things,
eyes blurry from frustration.
When I'm alone and wanting to throw up
my own mushy brain,
I chew on my pen and glide it to swirls and stars,
forgetting the troubles and the trash.
