VOICES

OF YOUNG WRITERS

WELCOME TO WRITE ON SPEAK OUT

A platform for the voices of young writers

WRITE ON SPEAK OUT gives voice to young writers and we are excited to share the Fresh Voices 2024 issue with you very soon.

Please enjoy our past issues: Lockdown Voices 2020, Voices for the Planet 2022 and Now&Then 2023.

2024 saw us take a new direction. Thanks to funding support we were able to reach out to schools within Ōtautahi Christchurch to find our Fresh Voices for 2024.

Our tutors supported the tamariki and rangatahi to develop a portfolio of writing that was meaningful to them. The young writers then selected a piece to record and share on this site.

Thank you to the schools, Plains FM, Rātā Foundation and Creative Communities Christchurch for their support of this project.

*Fresh Voices 2024  launches after 5 pm on Wednesday, October 16 2024

Writing gives young people agency. Write On Speak Out provides them with a voice.

This project is curated by the team at Write On School for Young Writers. We are a not-for-profit organisation based in Christchurch, New Zealand, offering tuition and mentorship to young writers anywhere in the world. We also publish Write On Magazine.

Ko te ahurei o te tamaiti ka ārahi i ā tātou mahi
